The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ
The keystone of our religion and the most correct book on earth
Key Scripture
Moroni 10:4
The Book of Mormon is a sacred volume of scripture that stands alongside the Bible as a second witness of Jesus Christ. It was translated by the Prophet Joseph Smith through the gift and power of God from gold plates buried in a hill called Cumorah in upstate New York.
What Is the Book of Mormon?
The Book of Mormon is a record of God's dealings with ancient inhabitants of the Americas. It covers a period from approximately 600 BC to 421 AD. The record was compiled and abridged by a prophet-historian named Mormon, and later by his son Moroni, who buried the plates before his death.
Its Central Message
The title page of the Book of Mormon states its purpose: to show unto the remnant of the House of Israel what great things the Lord has done for their fathers, and that they may know the covenants of the Lord, and to the convincing of the Jew and Gentile that Jesus is the Christ, the Eternal God.
The Moroni Promise
Moroni 10:3-5 contains one of the most powerful promises in all of scripture: that anyone who reads the Book of Mormon, ponders its message, and asks God in sincere prayer will receive a witness by the power of the Holy Ghost that it is true.
