General Conference: Hearing the Voice of Living Prophets

Twice-yearly gatherings where God speaks through His servants

Key Scripture

Amos 3:7

General Conference is a semiannual gathering of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, held each April and October in Salt Lake City, Utah. It is broadcast worldwide and attended by millions of members.

What Is General Conference?

During General Conference, the President of the Church, members of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, and other General Authorities address the worldwide membership of the Church. Their messages are considered inspired guidance for our day.

Themes of Recent Conferences

Recent General Conferences have emphasized the gathering of Israel, the importance of home-centered gospel learning, the covenant path, ministering to one another, and the power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. President Russell M. Nelson has called on members to become more deeply converted to the Savior and to let God prevail in their lives.
