Living Prophets: God's Voice in Our Day
How God continues to guide His Church through modern revelation
Key Scripture
Amos 3:7
One of the distinctive doctrines of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the belief in living prophets — men called of God to receive revelation and guide the Church in our day.
The Pattern of Prophets
Throughout history, God has always called prophets to guide His people. The Restoration of the gospel in 1830 included the restoration of the prophetic office.
President Russell M. Nelson
President Russell M. Nelson became the 17th President of the Church in January 2018. He has emphasized the gathering of Israel, the importance of the Sabbath day, the power of the covenant path, and the need to hear the voice of the Lord in our personal lives.
Personal Revelation
While the prophet receives revelation for the entire Church, each member has the right and responsibility to seek personal revelation for their own life and stewardship.
